The syndicate’s task was to organise and carry out household waste collection in the municipalities affiliated at the time. Later (1969), the collection of bulky waste and street cleaning were added.

Since 1992, with the introduction of the organic waste bin and the opening of the composting plant in Mamer, SICA has been undergoing constant change in order to be able to offer the citizens of the affiliated municipalities modern services in the area of waste disposal and recycling.
